Cakes for Selfridges

Ladies and gentlemen it is my great pleasure to introduce to you Nevie-Pie. This is my new logo, I drew her myself and with lots of help from Mr LD created a tag for my goodies.

She has recently made an appearance on some mini Christmas cakes that I took to Selfridges last week.

It was very exciting to finally be delivering, but I was nervous too. It went really well. although next time I need to take a high-vis jacket for the loading area, how glamourous!

They are just in the London store at the moment but by mid November my range of cakes, cookies and gingerbread houses will be in all three stores.

As it is their Christmas launch this Friday I will in the store painting some cakes in the food department and personalising them. Please stop and say hello if you are passing.

IT'S STILL CHRISTMAS!

I ran out of time before Christmas to show you my grotto, so apologies for dragging you backwards but I was quite proud of it and wanted to share!

Every year after Christmas I go to our local garden centre to buy half price decorations. Last year I was swept away by these giant glittery apples which I purchased without having a clue where to put them. I think they fit in well though with my glittery Christmas theme.

A few days ago we made our annual trip to the garden centre.

Mr Lemon Drizzle called me over to see something he had picked up.

"Look at these giant apple" He said.

I stared at him in shock. "We have two of those already!"

"Do we?"

"Yes they have been sitting in the dining room for three weeks!"

Why do I bother!

Anyway it was rather mean pickings this year so I'll have to get the kidlets crafting again.

These little men are some of the first decorations LD and myself bought together.

This is my felty/crafty/toy corner.

I still have one more Christmassy post to go and then I can turn my mind to the New Year.

Don't you hate it when chefs on TV bang on about 'how quick this meal is to make'? When, what they actually mean is, how quick it is to cook.
'Yes, Gordon, it may only take five minutes to fry it all together in a wok, but it's going to take me two hours to cut that amount of vegetables that thin, without my own sous chef and two children in the house!'

......and breathe!

So here is a quick project that really did only take me fifteen minutes.

We have an old picture from IKEA that Mr Lemon Drizzle purchased many moons ago and has since been relegated to under-the-bed. So I dug it out (that took up five of the minutes), took down the lovely picture my Mum painted and made a seasonal card display.

I taped some Christmas wrapping paper around the front. Then pinned some ribbon across it, I even had time to measure the distance between them equally.

Hung it on the wall and Bob's your Uncle, an attractive way to get the cards off the window shelf where they constantly fall over.
